As I completed my yearly playthrough of half life 2 this week, i found myself growing more and more bored during episode 2. The antlion caves felt interesting enough the first time through, but it seems to be the most stale part of the game for me. I love the industrial backdrops, the storyline, characters, physics puzzles. Etc.

Basically, the original gives more story (through gameplay) while Black Mesa gives story clues by dialogue. I think by these facts, that Half Life 1 is good for a first time because of more story being told. Question 2: Half Life 1 (you already completed, grats c:), Opposing Force, Blue Shift, Half Life 2, Episode 1, Episode 2.
Yeah I technically haven't beaten half life 2 according to steam achievements despite playing that game religiously. Episode 1 released in 2006. Steam achievements were rolled out with the orange box in 2007, so theres over a year of people finishing episode 1 without achievements. I technically never finished.

I just beat Episode Two. I understand why everyone is so crazy about HL3 coming out. That ending was nuts! Dog is a bad ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I also just beat episode 2 tonight so you can say im *just a tiny bit late* but i now understand why so many people ache for episode 3/ HL3 because that ending was to much of a cliffhanger.
